Rouen is the historical capital of Normandy, now the center of the Upper Normandy region and the prefecture of the Maritime Seine department in northern France. The city is located on the banks of the Seine. Refers to the northern part of the Paris agglomeration. The territory of the city is penetrated by tributaries of the Seine, in particular, the rivers Obett, Robek and Kai. Prior to the construction of the naval harbor at Havre, the port of Rouen received ships. The old town-museum is full of ancient buildings of exceptional artistic value. The Rouen left bank was virtually wiped off during the Normandy operation.
