Benevento is located in the Campania region, 50 km from Naples, and is the administrative center of the province of the same name. Benevento was the famous Appian Way - the most important of the ancient public roads of ancient Rome.
Today in Benevento you can see one of the best preserved in Italy Roman triumphal arches - the Arch of Trajan, listen to the opera in the still existing Roman amphitheater, admire the bell tower of the Cathedral and look at the city with the highest observation deck in the tower of the Priory Castle.
In the Middle Ages, Benevento gained the fame of the "city of witches" - the memory of this is still preserved in the name of one of the most popular Italian doctors Liquore Strega (Witch Liker).
