Maratea is a communal city located in the Italian region of Basilicata. It also unites under its wing the small coastal villages of Aquafredda, Marina di Maratea, Castrocco, Porto, Cersuta, Fiumicello and located higher on the hills of Brefaro, Massa Castello and Santa Caterina. The only one from the entire region has access to the sea.
The beaches of Maratea are considered one of the most picturesque in Italy.
